BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ reached 300 million views on YouTube on August 23 at 6 PM. BLACKPINK has reached the figure in 68 days, setting the fastest record among all boy and girl groups in K-Pop history.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that BLACKPINK rewrote K-Pop history with the song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, released last year on June. BLACKPINK not only remained at no. 1 on various music charts with a high number of users for a long time but are also remaining at the top ranks.

BLACKPINK also surpassed 1 million users within a 24-hour period and set the best record among K-Pop girl groups after the music chart reform.
The MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ also surpassed 300 million views in 68 days, setting the fastest record among K-Pop idol groups. It proved BLACKPINK’s global influence and power.

The video surpassed 10 million views in 6 hours, 20 million views in 13 hours, 30 million views in 23 hours, 40 million views in 27 hours, 50 million views in 50 hours, 60 million views in 82 hours, 70 million views in 120 hours, 80 million views in 161 hours, and 90 million views in 199 hours, renewing all time-related records previously held by K-Pop girl groups.
At the point they reached 150 million views, they set the shortest record among all boy and girl groups in K-Pop. They shortened the existing record by 11 days, surpassing the figure in 33 days. They literally swept all first, best, and fastest records day by day.

Furthermore, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ became the 2nd most watched MV in the world in 24 hours since its release in the world on YouTube. The video was placed at no. 1 among videos released this year.
BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel also surpassed 10 million subscribers at the end of July, allowing them to receive the honor of winning the ‘Diamond Creator Awards’ for the first time as a girl group. ‘Diamond Creator Award’ is one of the ‘YouTube Partner Awards’ and are given out to channels which surpassed a certain number of subscribers and serves as a trophy that signifies a popular YouTube account.

As of August 23, at 11 AM, BLACKPINK has a total of 10,997,659 subscribers on YouTube. The number is the highest among all K-Pop boy and girl groups and is the highest in K-Pop only after PSY.
Also, the song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ debuted on US Billboard’s main charts including the ‘Billboard 200’ as no. 40 and ‘Hot 100’ as no. 55. They set a milestone by debuting on Billboard’s main charts for the first time as a K-Pop girl group.
Despite being a girl group who are regarded as having weaker fandoms compared to boy groups, BLACKPINK put the people in awe by setting milestones day by day. BLACKPINK became a global girl group in 2 years since they made debut.
