BLACKPINK LISA Becomes Female Celebrity in Korea With the Most Number of Instagram Followers
[일간스포츠=황지영 기자] BLACKPINK LISA became the female celebrity in Korea with the most number of Instagram followers.
On January 13, LISA’s Instagram followers reached 13 million. This allowed her to become the female celebrity in Korea with the most number of Instagram followers, along with a strong influence.
The members of BLACKPINK made individual Instagram accounts last year on June 15 and gathered the attention of fans. In approximately 7 months, JENNIE reached 11.77 million followers, ROSÉ reached 10.07 million, while JISOO gathered 9.95 million followers, proving their status as a ‘global girl group’. All members were ranked within the top 5 in a short amount of time.
BLACKPINK was chosen as the ‘no. 1 girl group’ on the ‘2018 Instagram Awards’ announced last year on December. This means that their account has the most number of followers among idol group accounts operated by the agency.
BLACKPINK, currently gaining popularity in and out of Korea, is communicating with global fans through Instagram. The members upload photos of their daily lives, selfies, group pics, and others taken from various shooting scenes to connect to their fans.
Starting with the concert in Bangkok, Thailand, which is LISA’s hometown, BLACKPINK has held their first-ever world tour. The group will continue by performing in Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei to North America, Europe, and Australia to meet BLINKs located worldwide. The will also perform at ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’, the largest music festival in the US, for the first time as K-Pop idols on April 12 and 19. As BLACKPINK has partnered with Interscope Records, the representative music label of Universal Music Group to announce their expansion into the US, the group will actively perform as a global girl group this year as well.
