BLACKPINK’s First-Ever World Tour Starts Off Fantastically in Bangkok by Gathering 30 Thousand Audiences

[스포티비뉴스=김원겸 기자] BLACKPINK set the first step of their world tour by selling out tickets for all 3 concerts in Bangkok and gathering 30 thousand audiences.

BLACKPINK’s first-ever world tour titled ‘BLACKPINK 2019 World Tour with KIA-In Your Area’ started in Bangkok, LISA’s hometown.

LISA joined YG Entertainment back in 2011 as a trainee, and performed in a concert held in Bangkok for the first time ever since she made debut as a member of BLACKPINK on August 8, 2016/

According to YG Entertainment, tickets for BLACKPINK’s concerts held on the 12th, 13th, and the additional concert added on the 11th were all sold out, proving the heated interest of local fans. Every concert filled 10 thousand seats each, gathering a total of 30 thousand audiences in 3 concerts.

Prior to the concert, BLACKPINK arrived in Bangkok on the 9th. The fans who visited Suvarnabhumi airport greeted BLACKPINK. Journalists from over 70 local media channels visited BLACKPINK’s press conference, proving the heated local interest towards BLACKPINK. 

The heated interest also existed on the concert scene. 

The audiences gathered around the arena hours before the concert, waiting to enter. They took photos in front of a photo wall created with a large-scale photo of BLACKPINK, and the special booth provided by Kia Motors. The audiences enjoyed the event while dancing to BLACKPINK’s music playing from the booth.

All BLACKPINK goods sold at the Bangkok concert were sold out.

The heat of the concerts became hotter every time they were held for 3 days. The audiences sang-along to all songs by BLACKPINK, while paying attention to every words BLACKPINK shared with the fans.

During the encore performances, the fans prepared a slogan event in Korean that read, ‘887 days, I’m waiting for you’, ‘Happy birthday, JISOO and JENNIE’, and ‘BLINK will shine BLACKPINK forever’. 

BLACKPINK shared their expectations on their future concert in Bangkok by stating, “We won’t forget the special days of our Bangkok concert, even when we go back to Korea. We’ll miss Thailand. We will hold another concert in Bangkok real soon. Let’s meet again then”. 

LISA shared her gratitude towards the fans of her hometown by stating, “I thank everyone that came to support us. Starting our first world tour in Thailand holds a great meaning. I would really appreciate it if everyone would remember this moment. We love you BLINK!”. 

BLACKPINK’s world tour which started in Bangkok will continue through their concerts in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 19th and 20th. They will also visit Hong Kong, Manila, Philippines, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Taipei, to North America, Europe, and Australia.
