BANG YE DAM has been receiving the spotlight before the airing of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ and has been regarded as the trainee who is likely to make debut. BANG YE DAM who became a trainee of YG after winning 2nd place on ‘K-Pop Star 2’ trained for 6 years to become a skilled singer-songwriter with upgraded vocal and songwriting skills.
BANG YE DAM did not meet up to his expectations on the first monthly evaluations and was placed at no. 4 but got back on track soon. After became a Treasure member and maintained his spot. He will now present his talents as a member of YG’s new boy group.
KIM JUNKYU has been practicing with BANG YE DAM as Treasure A. KIM JUNKYU, who let himself known prior to the show airing, received heated support from the fans and challenged on making debut once again.
KIM JUNKYU showed an uneasy start on the monthly evaluations as he was burdened by his long-term training period. He was selected as the debut group member but had to return to a regular trainee as he lost the ‘2:2-unit swap’ battle, going through ups and downs. He later was placed at no. 1 on the 5-member team performance battle and performed well on the final stage, securing his spot as a debut member.
HARUTO from YGJ, YG Entertainment’s Japan branch, is to make debut as YG’s first artist from Japan. He was the youngest member among Treasure J, the group with Japanese trainees, but received high scores from the early stages of the show with his promising talent. HARUTO received love from the fans with his handsome looks and unexpected baritone rap tone.
SO JUNGHWAN has been through many critical situations. He kept his spot as the first debut group member on the ‘1:1-position swap’ but had to return as a regular trainee, since he couldn’t form a 2-people unit. He was unable to join the debut group after that and had to advance to the finals through the team performance battle.
After competing with other skilled trainees on the final stage, SO JUNGHWAN was ranked at no. 1 on the dance position. Since he is the youngest among all debut members, he is expected to show rapid growth and present his charms along with BANG YE DAM, KIM JUNKYU, and HARUTO.
The confirmed debut members of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ were determined as BANG YE DAM, KIM JUNKYU, HARUTO, and SO JUNGHWAN. As YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK has announced that 7 people will make debut, the remaining 3 debut members will be announced through VLIVE’s ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ channel on the 21st, 23rd, and 25th at 11 AM.
