Today(10th) at 6:50 PM, the MV for JENNIE’s first solo track ‘SOLO’ reached 200 million views on YouTube. JENNIE rewrote K-Pop history by surpassing 200 million views for the first time as a Korean female solo artist.

JENNIE released ‘SOLO’ last year on November 12 as the first runner of BLACKPINK’s solo project. The MV surpassed 100 million views on December 6, in 23 days since the video was released, which set the fastest record in Korean female solo artist history. She used the momentum to surpass 200 million views for the first time as a Korean female solo artist in 90 days, setting a huge milestone.

Through her single ‘SOLO’, JENNIE topped the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart for the first time as a Korean female solo artist, surpassing Pop stars including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. With her no. 1, she proved her strong presence in the global Pop market.

All 6 MVs released by BLACKPINK since debut have surpassed 100 million views. The MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ surpassed 600 million views, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ surpassed 500 million views, ‘BOOMBAYAH’ surpassed 400 million views, ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ and ‘WHISTLE’ surpassed 300 million views, while ‘STAY’ surpassed 100 million views. They have 2 MVs with over 500 million views, which is a record among all groups of K-Pop.

In addition, the choreography videos for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, and ‘BOOMBAYAH’ reached 100 million views, proving the fans’ interest on not only BLACKPINK’s music, but also their performances.

To celebrate JENNIE’s MV for ‘SOLO’ surpassing 200 million views, YG Entertainment uploaded a celebratory poster through their official blog. The poster presented a vague mood with JENNIE staring at somewhere on top of a car with wings on her back.

On February 9 (local time), BLACKPINK performed at the 2019 Universal Music Group Grammy Artist Showcase representing Interscope Records, the representative music label of Universal Music Group (UMG).

The Grammy Artist Showcase, held a week before the opening of the Grammy Awards, featured global artists including Post Malone, Lil Baby, J Balvin, Ella Mai, and Greta Van Fleet in addition to BLACKPINK.
