YG, “BLACKPINK Will Release the Japanese Version of ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ on September and Start Promotion in Japan”

[마이데일리=김나라 기자] Group BLACKPINK will release the Japanese version of ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ through Interscope Records from Universal Music Japan.

On July 26, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK will release ‘KILL THIS LOVE -JP Ver.-’, the Japanese version album of ‘KILL THIS LOVE’, through Interscope Records on September 11 and will begin their promotional activities in Japan in the near future.

The Japanese version of ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ will contain both Korean and Japanese versions of the album’s songs. As a result, it will be consisted of a total of 10 tracks.

BLACKPINK topped the US iTunes Album Chart with their album ‘KILL THIS LOVE’, released worldwide on April 5, while the MV of the song also proved the group’s global popularity by becoming the fastest K-Pop group video to reach 500M views. That is precisely why the local fans are highly anticipating the release of ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ in Japanese.

After signing with Interscope Records of Universal Music Group last year on October, BLACKPINK entered the world market and will continue their collaborative work with Interscope Records in Japan with the release of the album.

John Janick, the CEO of Interscope Records stated, “BLACKPINK is a rare combination of enormous talent and magic which attracts global music fans”. He continued, “We are happy to collaborate with Universal Music Japan to continue BLACKPINK’s marvelous success in Japan”.

Regarding the release of the album in Japanese version, BLACKPINK revealed, “It is an honor to release the Japanese version of the album through Interscope, the label which manages various global artists”.

In addition to the upcoming album release, BLACKPINK will continue their activities in Japan. They will meet the local music fans through major music festivals including ‘A-nation 2019′, ‘SUMMER SONIC 2019′, and ‘WIRED MUSIC FESTIVAL‘19′ this summer.

After that, BLACKPINK will hold a dome tour in Japan consisted of 4 concerts held in 3 cities. Their schedule will begin on December in Tokyo Dome and continue in Osaka Kyocera Dome next year on January, to Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome on February.
