On October 23 at 6 PM, WINNER will release their third mini album, ‘CROSS’. YG Entertainment uploaded WINNER’s comeback D-DAY poster and the album counter for ‘CROSS’ through their official blog.
#WINNER’s Autumn Emotions
It is the first time WINNER will be making comeback in the autumn season. WINNER, who have usually released fresh and energetic songs, will throw deeper emotions and messages this time.
The title song ‘SOSO’ is a song that represents WINNER’s sincerity and growth. It expresses one trying to look strong and calm, despite the inner wounds and frustration caused by a breakup.
WINNER gave a hint on the message of the song and what they wanted to express by explaining, “Most people live in situations where they can’t express emotions such as frustration, sadness, and anger”.
However, WINNER’s signature joyous vibes still exist on the album. MINO shared his witty thoughts by stating, “It’s coming out before Inner Circle got sentimental due to the season. Let’s ride the rhythm instead of the fall”. JINU stated, “I’m happy to keep our promise, and thank you for waiting. Let’s have fun”.

WINNER has utilized symbolic images to express the implying meanings of their new album ‘CROSS’. Teaser contents such as posters with four crossing lights and hands reaching out towards a single light grabbed the fans’ attention and raised both their curiosities and expectations.
The teasers gradually implied that WINNER’s album ‘CROSS’ signifies WINNER’s own relationships, music, and stories created while the 4 members of WINNER with unique directions and characteristics became a new crossing point. It is reviewed that their strategy teased the story of their new album with effectiveness.
#Matured Musical Capabilities of WINNER and its Members
The album ‘CROSS’ combines each member’s diverse musical character and growth as artists. Following their latest release, the title song ‘SOSO’ was written and composed by YOON as well, while MINO and HOONY participated in writing the lyrics. AiRPLAY, a producer of YG Entertainment, also participated in the composition and arrangement of the track to raise the level of completion.
Furthermore, HOONY’s first official solo track titled ‘FLAMENCO’ and YOON’s solo track ‘WIND’ were listed on the album, allowing the listeners to focus on each member’s musical character and color.
