BLACKPINK Tops Digital Album Sales on QQ Music… Realizes Massive Popularity in China
[일간스포츠=황지영 기자] BLACKPINK was listed on multiple year-end chart categories of China’s representative music platform.
According to YG Entertainment on the 31st, BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ achieved the most number of sales on the ‘2019 K-Pop Digital Albums’ category of QQ Music, which is China’s largest music platform with approximately 400 million users per month. The only song released by a foreign artist which had a higher ranking than BLACKPINK was Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’(no.8).
BLACKPINK’s popularity and influence in the China region was also confirmed in Taiwan. The group swept the top ranks of multiple charts and was ranked at no. 1 on the ‘2019 K-Pop Top 20’ announced by KKBOX, which is the largest music streaming platform in Asia. BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ was ranked at no. 1, JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ was ranked at no. 2, while ‘Don’t Know What To Do’ was ranked at no. 7, making the people realize BLACKPINK’s power of influence within the Chinese region.
BLACKPINK is currently working on their new album with the goal of making comeback in early 2020.
