SECHSKIES’ New Beginning as a 4-Member Group… Aims at Winter Emotions with Newtro Music
[스타뉴스 여의도=이정호 기자] Group SECHSKIES(EUN JIWON, LEE JAIJIN, KIM JAEDUCK, JANG SUWON) is making comeback in 2 years and 4 months.
On January 28, SECHSKIES held a press conference to celebrate the release of their first-ever mini album titled ‘ALL FOR YOU’ in Conrad Seoul Hotel, Yeoeuido.
The members of SECHSKIES agreed that they are “releasing an album in a long time”, but also shared that they don’t feel awkward in making comeback in 2 years and 4 months. The members revealed, “It doesn’t fit the current trend, but it’s not strange for us to come up with our next project after a long period of vacancy”. EUN JIWON added, “I feel nervous about the fact that we’re making comeback as a 4-member group. That’s why we worked harder”.
As EUN JIWON mentioned, since SECHSKIES will be active as a 4-member group for the first time, it is said that the group has displayed great teamwork in creating their new album. The members focused on expressing their capabilities and character in each individual song of their upcoming album.
On making comeback as a 4-member group, the group stated, “We feel sorry towards our fans” and explained that they’ve worked hard to not let the listeners feel an empty position. EUN JIWON stated, “SECHSKIES was the best when there were 6 members”. He added, “That’s why we worked harder to not let the people feel the empty positions. We don’t have a designated main vocalist but arranged our vocals that match the vibe of each individual track. We destroyed positions”.
JANG SUWON stated, “We worked hard to keep studying songs. We can get rusty as we get older, but we practiced hiding our weaknesses and highlight our strengths”. KIM JAEDUCK also added, “Not only the music, but even the vocal styles are different nowadays compared to the past. We tried not to get left behind”.
SECHSKIES’ first-ever mini album ‘ALL FOR YOU’ has a total of 5 tracks including a title song with the same title of the album, in addition to songs ‘DREAM’, ‘MEANINGLESS’, ‘ROUND & ROUND’, and ‘WALKING IN THE SKY’. The album contains songs in various genres, which allows the listeners to feel the members’ diverse vocal skills and moods.
The title song ‘ALL FOR YOU’ contains one’s feelings towards his lover with lyrics which the listeners can feel empathy and a clear melody line. Since it will be the first album being presented since SECHSKIES reformed into a 4-member group, they’ve put focus in expressing the members’ capabilities and characters.
Through the title song ‘ALL FOR YOU’ which reinterprets emotions of 90s R&B music, SECHSKIES will present their new color. Regarding the title song, the members explained, “It is always homework to think about how to get rid of our old feelings, whenever we’re releasing a new album. But would there even be a genre left if we keep on following the current trend” and added, “So we decided not to get rid of our own color. We tried to interpret things with our own color”.
SECHSKIES showed strong affections towards the team. On the question asking whether they’ve thought about changing the name of their group since the current name includes the number ‘6’, the group answered, “Never. We are strongly attached to this name. We can’t change the group name just because the number has changed”.
They continued, “If we are allowed to wish so much, we would like to be active as SECHSKIES until we can’t sing anymore”. They added, “There can be many unexpected circumstances so we can’t make a promise, but that’s how we feel. We’ll be very active from now on”.
‘ALL FOR YOU’, SECHSKIES’ first-ever mini album, will be released through various music platforms on the 28th at 6 PM.
