YG TREASURE Announces Winner of ‘BOY’ Dance Cover Contest

[일간스포츠=김연지 기자] The first-ever dance cover contest held by YG’s rookie group TREASURE ended in success under the participation of numerous global fans.

On September 4 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment announced the 3 winning teams of the ‘BOY’ dance cover contest through TREASURE’s official social media account. The ‘BOY’ dance cover contest took place for a total of 21 days, from August 11 until August 31. Despite being TREASURE’s first-ever contest, people from various countries including the US, Japan, Indonesia, and France participated, proving the group’s global popularity.

Team ‘C.A.C’ from Vietnam won the grand prize. ‘C.A.C’ won the grand prize by showing off their high-level dance skills in a fresh outdoor background. They added unity with their blue-tone outfits and grabbed the people’s attention with the harmony of both male and female members.

‘COIN BAE’ from Thailand won second place. They presented TREASURE’s ‘teen crush’ charms by using a basketball court as the background. Furthermore, they made a MV-like cover with outfits which remind the viewers of TREASURE, in addition to the motion effects shown in the clip.

The third prize winners were ‘DOUBLE BOYS’ from Thailand. They also presented a high-level of completion with stylings which resemble TREASURE, including outfits and hairstyles. The video by ‘DOUBLE BOYS’ had the highest view count among all participants.

TREASURE’s debut title song ‘BOY’ has a strong beat and a dynamic dance performance. The choreography for ‘BOY’, created by 6 world-famous choreographer teams, combined dances of the latest trend, which became a hot topic among global music fans.

The song ‘BOY’ topped iTunes Top Song charts in 19 different countries as soon as the song was released, topped the Daily Chart of Line Music, which is Japan’s biggest music platform, as well as being ranked at no. 1 on China QQ Music’s Top Rising Chart. They also sold over 200 thousand album copies despite being a rookie group, becoming the biggest rookies of K-Pop this year.

Meanwhile, TREASURE has announced their upcoming comeback by releasing a coming soon poster of their new single and will try to gain global popularity and success, once again.
