BLACKPINK to Appear on ‘Good Morning America’… Global Activities Receive ‘Attention’
[MBN스타=안하나 기자] BLACKPINK has noticed their appearance not only on Korean music broadcasts but also variety programs and American talk shows, receiving the global fans’ heated reactions.
According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK has confirmed their appearance on ABC ‘Good Morning America, GAM’ to be broadcasted on the 21st(local time).
‘Good Morning America’ is a morning broadcast program which represents the ABC channel. The program has over 40 years of history and a high viewer rating. BLACKPINK has had their first-ever live performance in the US back in 2019 on ‘Good Morning America’ with ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, so their appearance has a lot of meaning.
BLACKPINK is planning to take over ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, the late-night talk show on the 20th, and will decorate US ABC’s representative program the next morning, which will show off their presence in the global music market.
BLACKPINK is also meeting the fans through active appearances on music broadcasts. BLACKPINK will appear on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ today(17th) and will present a high-quality performance. Starting with their no. 1 on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 11th, they won trophies on ‘M Countdown’, ‘Show Champion’, and ‘Music Bank’ without even making appearances, winning a total of 4 crowns within a week.
Furthermore, they will reveal their friendly yet charming aspects through JTBC’s variety program ‘Knowing Bros’ tonight at 9 PM, which is raising the viewers’ anticipation.
BLACKPINK is dominating charts in and out of Korea after releasing their official debut album, ‘THE ALBUM’, on the 2nd.
‘THE ALBUM’ was ranked at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 and UK’s Official Albums Chart, proving their presence in the major Pop market. Furthermore, BLACKPINK was ranked at no. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 Chart, as well as becoming the first K-Pop girl group to chart 2 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.
