AKMU to Make Comeback on November 16… Return of the Chart Influencers
[YTN Star=조현주 기자] AKMU has announced that they will release their new song on November 16. The K-Pop scene is expected to pay keen attention on the return of AKMU, in approximately a year and 2 months since the release of their third album ‘Sailing’.
On November 9 at 9 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded the ‘AKMU Comeback Teaser’ through their official blog. Despite being a short 15-second clip, AKMU’s unique and deep emotions were presented through the video.
LEE CHAN HYUK’s voice made the people guess the vibe of their upcoming song. Although they weren’t lyrics, his deepened echo and tremor made harmony with the black and white scenery shown through the windows, passing by. Furthermore, the date 2020.11.16 appeared as the screen turned black with fog effects, notifying AKMU’s upcoming release date.
Prior to their comeback, LEE SUHYUN of AKMU released her first-ever solo single ‘ALIEN’, which received positive reviews. As the group will make their full-member comeback in approximately a month, the people are looking forward to their upcoming song.
After receiving attention as AKMU by appearing on ‘K-Pop Star’ season 2 back in 2012, AKMU made official debut through YG in 2014. They’ve then established themselves as music chart influencers with their talents in writing and composing music, creating numerous hits for the past 6 years.
AKMU has been acknowledged not only for their mass popularity, but also for their musical artistry with their third album ‘Sailing’ released last year. The title song ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ from their album ‘Sailing’ achieved an ‘all-kill’ on Korean music charts, dominating them for a long time. The song is still ranked within the top 20 of Melon’s Daily chart despite being over a year since its release, proving their steady popularity.
