It Worked as a Solo for MINO… 110 Thousand Copies of His 2nd Album Sold
[텐아시아=김소연 기자] MINO became the ‘WINNER’ even as a solo artist.
According to YG Entertainment, MINO’s second album ‘TAKE’ has surpassed a total of 110 thousand in sales as of November 11. The figure accumulates 93,433 sales of the regular version and the 16,665 sales of the limited-edition KiT.
It is rare for a Hip-hop album in Korea to surpass 100 thousand in sales within a week after its release. This year, MINO’s second album ‘TAKE’ was the first to achieve the figure and is the top 10 among all solo artist releases this year.
Solo Hip-hop artists usually perform well through digital songs and the performance market. It is hard for a Hip-hop based album to sell a lot of physical copies, except for major groups. This shows MINO’s influence, once again.
MINO received positive reviews from music fans through his second album ‘TAKE’, which he participated in the writing and composing of all songs, by presenting not only his capabilities as a producer but also his unique artistry.
The title song ‘Run away’ from the album ‘TAKE” was placed on the top ranks of major Korean music charts including Naver Music, Vibe, Bugs, and Genie, while other songs from the album also successfully charted in.
The song ‘Ok man’, featured by BOBBY of iKON, was presented through a music broadcast performance and also received passionate responses as much as the title song ‘Run away’.
