‘Comeback’ YOON, “Title Track ‘IYAH’ is a Story to Myself”
[OSEN=선미경 기자] YOON of group WINNER raised the fans’ anticipations by revealing the album of his meaning and thoughts on making comeback with 2 days left until the official release of his solo album [PAGE].
On March 27, YG Entertainment uploaded YOON’s commentary film through their official blog. The video not only included a sincere interview of YOON, but also the recording scene of his title track ‘IYAH’ from his upcoming solo album.
YOON brightly smiled while stating, “The fact that my hard-worked album is coming out itself makes me happy. I’m happy that it will be a great gift for the fans who have waited for such a long time”.
He also introduced [PAGE] by stating, “I’ve put in the things I’ve learned while making music, and living the past 10 years as a ‘person’. The album is like a memoir”.
YOON’s first full album [PAGE] includes a total of 12 tracks. The album presents YOON’s abilities as a singer-songwriter and producer, as he was credited as the lyricist and composer of all tracks from the album.
He stated, “The songs were created in different timelines throughout many years. You will feel my growth from the way I sing and from the melody”, and made the people burst into laughter by making an example, “There are songs which will make people feel, ‘Oh! This is YOON from back in 2018’”.
He also hinted on the title track ‘IYAH’. YOON shared the background on how the song was created by stating, “It’s a story to myself. It began with the thought, ‘What would I like to tell myself when I’m worn out’”.
Furthermore, he added, “Most of the songs including the title track have different messages other than love. It will be the differentiation point of ‘solo artist YOON’ and ‘WINNER’”.
Finally, YOON revealed, “I would like to become a singer-songwriter not bound to anything”. He shared his gratitude towards his fans and left a lingering comment by stating, “I would like to happily enjoy with everyone”.
YOON’s first solo full album [PAGE] will be released on the 29th at 6 PM. He is scheduled to meet the fans an hour prior to the release of his album through the Naver V LIVE ‘Countdown Live’.
