[마이데일리=강다윤 기자] Group BLACKPINK LISA’s solo album broke the record of sales within the first week of release as a Korean female artist on the Hanteo Chart.

According to Hanteo Chart on the 17th, LISA’s first solo album ‘LALISA’ sold a total of 736,221 copies from the 10th to the 16th. This record surpasses BLACKPINK’s first full album ‘THE ALBUM’ which recorded 690,000 initial sales (according to Hanteo Chart).

The Hanteo chart tally does not take into account of exports to the States and Europe to the nature of how albums are distributed within those areas. In the case of BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’, it surpassed more than 1 million copies on Gaon’s music chart which includes all exports to foreign countries too, making them reach the milestone of becoming the first million seller as a K-POP girl group.

It is expected that LISA’s solo album ‘LALISA’ will surpass more than 800,00 copies when including overseas sales. Considering she is a global pop-star waiting to soar once again, we can also expect her to reach 1 million copies.

An official from YG Entertainment said “In the case of BLACKPINK’s first full album, their sales are increasing both domestically and Internationally since the first week counting period, and has reached an accumulative 1.4 million copies”. They also said “When we take into consideration of LALISA’ LP copies which hasn’t been released just yet, the number of sales for her album will increase even more.”

LISA is also breaking new records day by day, not just with her album sales. Her music video of her title song ‘LALISA’ reached 73.6 million views within 24 hours of release on YouTube, which is a world record for a solo artist. It then reached 100 million views in just two days which is the shortest amount to reach such a feat as a K-pop solo artist. Her video remains on the top spot of ‘The most viewed video” on YouTube for 7 consecutive days.

Her title song for the album ‘LALISA’ which is the same title as her album took the no.1 spot in a total of 72 countries for the iTunes Top Song chart. After entering Spotify’s global chart as 15th which is the world’s greatest music streaming platform, she has been steadily maintaining a good record on the chart. Meanwhile, the choreography video of her title song which was released at 12 a.m. on the day exceeded more than 5.5 million views in just half a day, showing great popularity as much as the music video.
