YG TREASURE Wins First Award At ‘Japan’s Golden Disk Awards’
[OSEN=지민경 기자] YG mega group TREASURE won their first award at Japan’s Golden Disk Awards.
TREASURE listed their name on the ‘Best 3 new artists’ for the 36th Japan Golden Disk Awards nomination list, which was unveiled on the 14th.
TREASURE said “Thank you for the great award. We were touched by the love we received from fans. We will pay them back with great music and performance”.
The award ceremony which is conducted by Japan’s Record Association has great reputation, and selects artists and work that contributed towards the development of the music industry every year.
TREASURE had made their presence clear with their music and M/V content, as they received so much love from global fans even without any proper activities in Japan.
In particular, TREASURE had received even-more attention in Japan first. Starting with their debut song ‘BOY’, ‘I LOVE YOU’ ,’MMM’, and ‘MY TREASURE’ had took the first spot on Japanese music charts even before they released their Japanese album.
‘BOY’ and ‘MY TREASURE’ took the first spot on Line Music Weekly Chart for 2 consecutive weeks, and ‘BEAUTIFUL’, which is a Japanese animation theme song sung by TREASURE, received so much love, showing how quickly the group was expanding their popularity in Japan.
Afterwards, TREASURE took over the Oricon Weekly Chart for the first time with their Japanese full album ‘THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT’. They then once again took the first spot with their first mini-album ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ released in Korea, showing how much love they’re receiving in Japan.
The title-song of their album ‘JIKJIN’ not only took over major music sites in Japan such as Line Music, Apple Music, iTunes, AWA, Rakuten Music, and mu-mo, and also successfully landed in the U.S. Global 200 Chart.
