[JTBC=김선우 기자] Pop star Charlie Puth has praised the cover by YG’s new girl group BABYMONSTER’s pre-debut member AHYEON, drawing attention from the public.
Charlie Puth recently left a comment ‘I loved it’ on his TikTok community. He was responding to a question from a music fan asking if he had seen AHYEON’s cover of ‘Dangerously.’
AHYEON’s ‘Dangerously’ cover was uploaded on BABYMONSTER’s official YouTube channel on April 22nd. The video showcases AHYEON’s unique sensibilities, with her overwhelming tone, explosive singing ability, and high-level technique, receiving positive responses from global music fans.
The video received even more praise from the original artist, Charlie Puth. Currently, the video has surpassed 8.74 million views in less than 10 days since its release, quickly approaching 10 million views.
BABYMONSTER is YG’s new girl group, the first to debut after BLACKPINK in about seven years. As YG has been preparing the group for a long time, it is expected to change not only the domestic music scene but also the global music market.
The pre-debut members consist of three Koreans (AHYEON, HARAM, RORA), two Thais (PHARITA, CHIQUITA), and two Japanese (RUKA, ASA). The final debut members will be announced on the 12th.
