‘YG’ BABYMONSTER, Walking the Path of BLACKPINK… YouTube Subscribers Already at 3 Million
[한국경제=김수영 기자] YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group, BABYMONSTER, has already achieved 3 million subscribers on their official YouTube channel even before their official debut.
According to YG Entertainment on the 17th, the official YouTube channel of BABYMONSTER surpassed 3 million subscribers at around 1:08 pm on this day. This comes approximately 201 days after the channel was created on December 28 of the previous year.
Along with the subscribers, the views of the content are also steadily increasing. So far, the videos posted on their official YouTube channel have surpassed a cumulative 500 million views. In particular, their pre-debut song ‘DREAM’ is on a steep upward trajectory, approaching 50 million views. Following its immediate capture of the top spot in YouTube Worldwide Trending, it also topped the Billboard ‘Hot Trending Songs’ chart.
BABYMONSTER, the girl group that YG is announcing about 7 years after BLACKPINK, is receiving the expectations of K-pop fans as an ‘all-rounder’ that is well-equipped with vocal, dance, rap, and visual capabilities. It has a multinational composition from Korea (AHYEON, HARAM, RORA), Thailand (PHARITA, CHIQUITA), and Japan (RUKA, ASA).
BABYMONSTER is energetically preparing for their debut aimed for this coming September. They have invited famous overseas producers to Korea and have held multiple song camps, and they have secured several tracks including the debut song. YG stated that they are actively pursuing subsequent projects that will continue after the debut.
