AKMU Ends 2-Year Hiatus… YG Says “Aiming for a Summer Comeback, Working on Latter Half of Album”
[JTBC=박상후 기자] AKMU (LEE CHANHYUK·LEE SUHYUN) is on the brink of a comeback.
On the 25th, the agency YG Entertainment revealed to the JTBC Entertainment News team, “AKMU is working on the latter half of the album with the goal of making a summer comeback.”
They added, “We will inform you of the details once they are confirmed.”
AKMU is set to release a new album for the first time in about 2 years since their July 2021 release, ‘NEXT EPISODE.’
AKMU, who made their debut with their first full album ‘PLAY’ in 2014 after winning ‘K-Pop Star Season 2’ on SBS, has been involved in planning every new song and album, writing songs to establish AKMU’s unique music genre. They have produced numerous hit songs without losing their appeal to the general public while maintaining their distinctive musical style.
They have also been active in solo activities. LEE SUHYUN released her first single ‘ALIEN’ in October 2020, and participated in the tvN drama ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’, JTBC’s ‘My Liberation Notes’, and the movie ‘Mulan’ O.S.T. LEE CHANHYUK also received a lot of love for his first full album ‘ERROR’ released last October.
