[엑스포츠뉴스=이슬 기자] YG Entertainment’s new act, BABYMONSTER, is set to debut as a six-member group excluding AHYEON.
On the 15th, YG Entertainment announced, “BABYMONSTER, consisting of six members – RUKA, PHARITA, ASA, HARAM, RORA, and CHIQUITA – will release their debut song’s music video and track on the 27th.”
Originally planned as a seven-member group, AHYEON has decided to take a break due to health reasons.
YG stated, “We regret not being able to introduce AHYEON as a member of BABYMONSTER, but this decision was made for the artist’s health. We will spare no support for AHYEON to fully recover and return in good condition.”
YG is fully committed to ensuring a successful debut for BABYMONSTER, having completed all preparations.
Through songwriting camps, high-quality songs were sourced from numerous global writers, followed by a meticulous selection process. YG’s senior artists and in-house producers have also joined forces to form a ‘dream team’, anticipating a hot response from music fans worldwide.

Despite not having officially debuted yet, their official YouTube channel broke the K-pop girl group record by reaching 2 million subscribers in just 129 days, now surpassing 3.19 million subscribers. Their content has accumulated over 450 million views. Billboard USA has spotlighted them as a ‘K-pop Artist to Watch’, predicting they will bring a new wave to the K-pop genre.
