According to some music video staff’s remarks made on the 9, Psy has finalized the date of the music video shoot at the middle of this month and been preparing for the shooting.
A music video is usually shot after other preparations for a new song, its choreography and costumes are completely finished. It suggests that the preparation for Psy’s comeback is almost done. Plus, considering the fact that singers typically come back right after shooting a music video, Psy is thought to come back in February.
Notably, it is known that Psy has been creating several music videos at the same time to present multiple music videos upon his comeback. There is also a high chance that he will perform double or even triple title tracks simultaneously. As Psy has disclosed his photo with American hip-hop mogul SnoopDogg and suggested collaboration with other famous musicians on his Twitter account or in media interviews, people are paying keen attention to what result Psy will showcase to music fans.

Psy’s new music video is all the more important as it will determine whether Psy will take the largest number of music videos views for three years in a row, following the biggest number of views for his music videos on YouTube for past two consecutive years.
He already has an unmatched record of 1.6 billion views for “Gangnam Style” on YouTube in 2012, and “Gentleman” released last year also recorded No.1 views in 2013 at 600 million. These records have proven the trust and interest in Psy from people all around the world.
Notably, the number of hits on YouTube is a combination of the numbers of clicks by people all around the world, not just numbers in a certain country as in the case for America’s Billboard and iTunes. So, the number of clicks on YouTube can be seen as the only benchmark of artists’ popularity in the global music market. As Psy has taken the No.1 place in the number of views with his music videos for two consecutive years on YouTube, people from in and out of the country have extraordinarily high expectations for Psy’s new song.
Psy has proven his status as “king of concert” by his five successful solo concerts at the end of last year, which were held at Olympic Park’s Gymnastics Hall located in Seoul. At the concert, he said, “When I was working on ‘Gentleman’ last year, I had too many thoughts in my mind because of the unexpectedly high popularity that ‘Gangnam Style’ had enjoyed.
