2NE1’s “hybrid single”, FUSE TV’s “The 25 Best Albums of 2014”
[OSEN=정유진 기자] 2NE1’s “CRUSH” is chosen by FUSE TV as one of “the 25 Best Albums of 2014 so far.”
Introducing the 25 albums on June 16 (local date), FUST TV included 2NE1’s 2nd full album “CRUSH.” They picked “COME BACK HOME,” “BABY I MISS YOU,” and “GOTTA BE YOU” as the stand out tracks.
This is special for the four divas as their album stood shoulder-to-shoulder with world-renowned musicians like Cold Play, Mariah Carey, Pharrell Williams and Michael Jackson.
FUSE TV wrote, “Why It’s Great: After keeping fans waiting nearly four years for their second full-length album, the K-pop phenoms did not disappoint with a slew of forward-thinking, wholly-accessible tracks. ‘CRUSH’ proves 2NE1’s knack for genre-melding from the start, opening with the title track that blends Indian tabla drums and switchboard-button buzzing, followed by the reggae/trap-hybrid single ‘COME BACK HOME’.”
“’CRUSH’ broke the record for the biggest first-week sales for a K-pop album in America. The set hit No. 61 on the Billboard 200—also breaking the record for the highest-charting K-pop release.”
Released in late February, 2NE1’s latest album dominated charts home and abroad immediately after it was unveiled. Apart from the title track “COME BACK HOME” that ranked #1, most tracks on the list were lined up within the top 10 of ten major domestic charts. Their album topped several international iTunes as well, and as FUSE TV wrote, they broke the record for the highest-charting K-Pop release on the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, the quartet is geared to release the album “CRUSH” in Japan on June 25, and on June 28 they will be at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for their World Tour “ALL OR NOTHING.”
