TAEYANG’s solo “RISE” tops Japan’s biggest music site
[엑스포츠뉴스=한인구 기자] TAEYANG’s 2nd full solo album “RISE” topped Japan’s largest music website, recochoku.
The Korean version of “RISE” released in Japan on June 18 topped the daily chart of the day in the album category. “RISE” also topped Japan’s iTunes pop album chart (ranking #2 on overall album chart), garnering much popularity from the local fans. The achievement is especially meaningful as the album is a Korean version, not Japan’s official debut album.
The official Japanese debut album is scheduled to be released on August 13, and the latest accomplishment in Japan shows that TAEYANG’s popularity is high in the neighboring country as well.
The solo debut album to be released in August will include 2 “Complete Best,” like his first album “SOLAR,” debut mini album “HOT” and his latest album “RISE.” Some songs from “RISE” will be re-recorded in Japanese as well.
TAEYANG is also attracting attention in Japan as a member of BIGBANG, apart from debuting as a solo and holding a solo tour in Japan, as the group will be the headliner for the first time at the “a-nation island & stadium fes. 2014 powered by binjelly” on August 29, Friday.
It has been 2 weeks since TAEYANG’s new album was released, and his title track “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” has been ranking at the very top on Melon. On June 19, it still stands at the top, and on Gaon’s weekly overall album chart, “RISE” was placed #1 as well.
