[M/V HOTSPOT] SONG MIN HO of WINNER Rebellious but Witty in “I`m him”
[OSEN=김경주 기자] SONG MIN HO of the idol group WINNER presents a rebellious but witty MV.
The MV for SONG MIN HO`s solo release “I`m him” was chic and whimsical at the same time. In the music video, released on August 30 at 5 p.m., SONG MIN HO raps to the powerful hip hop beat along with witty effects in the background.
The first scene shows dogs barking ferociously while SONG MIN HO, who seems as if he is trapped in the cage with the dogs, dances freely to the beat. SONG MIN HO doesn’t let us down in the rap part, showing off his charismatic and fierce rapping skills.
He wears a clean-cut suit and a rebellious look to set the tone of his MV. The powerful moves in his dancing, in line with the strong hip hop beat, tell us that the overall concept is “powerful”.
However, the MV is not just about SONG MIN HO being strong and rebellious. His gestures and expressions go well with the witty lyrics, making the MV more interesting.
The special effects make the MV fascinating to watch. When SONG MIN HO sings “yeah I`m strong(*나는 세다)”, he has wings on his back as if he is a bird, and in some scenes, a picture of a dog is drawn on his face.
*(세다 is the Korean word for strong. 세 sounds similar to 새, the Korean word for a bird.)
Members of WINNER make cameo appearances in the music video to show their support, adding the fun factor to watching the MV.
TEDDY and CHOICE37, the main producers of YG, helped SONG MIN HO to write the music for his new hip hop solo “I`m him” but the lyrics are written by solely by SONG MIN HO. “I`m him” is a powerful hip hop song perfect for showing off SONG MIN HO`s charismatic baritone voice and excellent rapping skills. The far-out lyrics of the hook “‘yeah I`m him, yeah I`m strong, yeah I`m the strong him” will surely make the song unforgettable once you hear it.
Meanwhile, SONG MIN HO`s team WINNER is on a roll, hitting the top of various online charts right after their debut. In just two weeks of their debut stage, their title song “EMPTY” became No. 1 in Mnet’s MCountown chart for two consecutive weeks and collected four No. 1 trophies from the music charts of three major broadcasters.
