YG to hold Korea-China-Japan Global Voting Event for “MIX & MATCH,” Showcasing Collaboration Performance of All Nine Members
[동아닷컴 = 정준화 기자] YG Entertainment(YG)’s “MIX & MATCH,” a new survival TV program to pick members for YG’s new boy band called iKON, will hold global fan meeting events in Korea, China, and Japan and fans will get to vote for their favorite members.
At 2 p.m. on Sept. 23, YG revealed a poster that said “Vote for your favorite members of iKON, YG’s new boy band!” through its official blog (www.yg-life.com). Voting locations and schedules were printed on it as well.
The fan meeting events will be held in Korea, China, and Japan, providing an opportunity for global fans to meet with the members. The first fan meeting event will kick off on Oct. 5 at “Dojima river forum” in Osaka, Japan. On Oct. 11, the members will travel to Beijing, China, to hold the second event at the “Poly Theater,” and the journey will end with the last global fan meeting event on Oct. 17 at the “D-CUBE CITY D-CUBE PARK” in Seoul, Korea.
Expectations for the events are rising as not only the fans will get a chance to get to know all nine members (B.I, BOBBY, KIM JIN HWAN, SONG YUN HYEONG, KOO JUN HOE, KIM DONG HYUK, JUNG JIN HYEONG, JUNG CHAN WOO, and YANG HONG SEOK) of “MIX & MATCH” through Q&A sessions, but also a collaboration performance of all members will be revealed for the first time.
The collaboration performance will showcase revised versions of “WAIT FOR ME” and “JUST ANOTHER BOY,” the songs of the previous Team B of last year’s “WHO IS NEXT : WIN.”
In the fan meeting events, fans will get to cast early votes which will be added to the viewers’ votes of “MIX & MATCH.” Fans’ votes will decide which four members out of the remaining six will join the already chosen members, B.I., BOBBY, and KIM JIN HWAN.
Meanwhile, “MIX & MATCH” is a survival audition program designed to select the members of YG’s new boy band iKON. Along with the six members of Team B who lost the competition last year in “WHO IS NEXT: WIN,” three new YG trainees will join for the audition. Members with the best skills and characters will be chosen to form a multi-talented group, iKON.
Fans are eagerly waiting to find out which members will be chosen from the global fan meeting vote as the number of votes from the events will be combined with viewers’ votes. In deciding the final members of iKON during “MIX & MATCH,” the judges’ and viewers’ votes will account for 30% and 70%, respectively.
