On the 12 at 9am, HI SUHYUN’s photo was unveiled on YG’s official blog. In the photo, LEE HI and LEE SU HYUN’s fresh and pure image is catching the eyes.
They are looking forward with smile on their faces, holding a piece of paper that reads” Thank you From music video shooting”. The photo is LEE HI and LEE SU HYUN’s thank message. They heard the news of HI SUHYUN’s debut single “I’m Different”, at the shooting of the song’s music video.
“I’m Different” unveiled on the 11 at 0am took the No.1 in Korean music charts upon its release. In “24-hour streaming volume” chart, the song took the top place upon entering, showing HI SUHYUN’s potential on music charts.
‘As of the 12 at 8am, “I’m Different” was in No.1 on the real-time charts of nine music-streaming websites: Korea’s biggest Melon, Mnet, Olleh, Bugs, Genie, Soribada, Monkey 3, NAVER Music, and Daum Music. The song is drawing a lot of attention, as it has been sweeping charts for two days in a row.
“I’m Different” is an R&B/soul song, whose melody was written by YG producer P.K who wrote WINNER’s “empty” and by Rebecca Johnson who took part in featuring for TAEYANG’s “EYES, NOSE, LIPS”. The song’s lyrics were written by songwriter Masta Wu who wrote LEE HI’s “1,2,3,4’ and by BOBBY who features for “I’m Different”.
LEE HI’s soulful and sentimental voice, and AKMU member LEE SU HYUN’s clear and ringing vocal catch the ears with different colors. The song is composed of a catchy and rhythmical melody, brass session, and guitar rhythm, and it expresses the two vocalists’ voices more richly, based on a simple instrumental composition.
While LEE HI and LEE SU HYUN create a harmonized synergy effect with different voice colors and vocal styles, BOBBY adds to the appeal of the song, with his rapping of a natural flow and witty lyrics.
