WINNER’s “BABY BABY” and “SENTIMENTAL” are sweeping charts… “Topping music charts together”
[OSEN=최나영 기자] WINNER is sweeping charts upon their comeback.
As of February 1 at 7am, WINNER’s new song “BABY BABY” is in No.1 on the real-time chart of major music streaming websites in Korea, including Korea’s biggest Melon, as well as Genie Music, Olleh Music, NAVER Music, Soribada, and Bugs.
“SENTIMENTAL”, the other title track of WINNER’s new album, is ranked in the first place on Mnet.com and in the second place on the chart of other major music-streaming websites, staying at the top of charts along with “BABY BABY”. Other than those double title tracks, other songs of the album such as “IMMATURE” and “I’M YOUNG” are places in top ranks on charts, too.
WINNER’s new album released on February 1 has double title tracks: “BABY BABY” and “SENTIMENTAL”. Notably, WINNER members directly took part in the producing of the album, to further raise the quality of songs.
For “BABY BABY”, one of the double title tracks, NAM TAEHYUN, SONG MINHO, and LEE SEUNGHOON wrote the lyrics and NAM TAEHYUN wrote the melody. For “SENTIMENTAL”, the other title track, NAM TAEHYUN, SONG MINHO, and LEE SEUNGHOON wrote the lyrics and NAM TAEHYUN and Kang Wook-jin wrote the melody.
Relay cover project for “BABY BABY” carried out before the release of the album drew a big attention. Not only YG artists including LEE HI and TAEYANG but also other labels’ artists such as Zion.T and DEAN covered “BABY BABY”, and then AKMU, Katie Kim, G-DRAGON, and EPIK HIGH covered “SENTIMENTAL”. The unpredicted lineup of singers created sensation.
“SENTIMENTAL” is a song which wittily expresses a sentimental feeling that anyone could feel from time to time. Its comfortable melody and realistic lyrics well-resonate with listeners. Notably, its chorus part that goes “I feel sentimental now” is so catchy.
The song’s music video is also creating sensation. In the video, each member’s appeals are maximized with an interesting harmony between beautiful imagery and a subtle atmosphere that goes well with it. The video is expected to record substantially large number of views.
Meanwhile, WINNER met fans in countdown-live “EXIT AWARDS” aired on NAVER V-APP on January 31 at 11pm. In the “EXIT AWARDS” aired one hour before the official release of the team’s mini-album “EXIT:E”, WINNER closely communicated with fans, to further raise fans’ anticipation for their comeback.
