WINNER will appear in JTBC’s new show “Half-moon Friends”… Interesting collaboration between idol singers and children
WINNER will open a “Dream Daycare Center” for JTBC’s new show “Half-moon Friends” that will be aired from April and will spend time and communicate with children from double-income families, who are aged from four to seven.
The program will humorously and touchingly depict the process that idol singers who had practiced as trainees for a long time before their debut and children who are used to stay alone from busy parents meet each other and become friends. In the show, WINNER will demonstrate their personal and sincere appeals that have not been unveiled on fancy stages so far.
It has been two years and two months since WINNER appeared in a TV show as a complete team of the five members. Mnet’s “WINNER TV” which was WINNER’s last TV show, ended in February, 2014.
WINNER has been actively communicating with fans recently after releasing “EXIT:E” on the 1 last month. For shooting of “Half-moon Friends” show, WINNER halted the performance for their new album temporarily and began five-week-long shooting for the show on March 9.
YG Entertainment explained, “WINNER has been preparing for the project for the past six months. Now, WINNER is not performing on the stage for five weeks, to take part in the full shooting of the show. Usually, a regular cast member of a TV show goes to the shooting a day or two in a week. Plus, singers like WINNER who perform overseas as well cannot take out five weeks from their schedule. However, WINNER will be in front of cameras all day long for five weeks, as WINNER is not just a cast member. Plus, ‘Half-moon Friends’ is a project jointly produced by the TV station and YG”.
“Half-moon Friends” is a new format of TV show that combines entertainment and documentary. It will depict the fun and touching growth of idol singers and children in the process that they become friends. JTBC explained their intention for the program, saying, “We wanted to send a supporting message for all parents who raise children”.
Meanwhile, WINNER is still continuing with their national tour concert, holding their first concert “WINNER EXIT TOUR IN SEOUL” on March 12 and 13 at Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Olympic Park, Seoul, and then on March 26 at Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju, on April 2 at EXCO in Daegu, and on April 23 at KBS Hall in Busan.
