YG Says “MINZY is leaving the group, but 2NE1 will release a new single in the summer” (Official Announcement)

“We officially announce that the youngest member of 2NE1, MINZY, is no longer a member of the group” announced YG Entertainment on its official blog on April 5.
They went on to say, “2NE1’s contract is due to end on May 5, and in January, we talked to each member to ask whether they want to resign the contract and express YG’s will to revive the group. Unfortunately, MINZY and YG failed to see eye to eye.”
They also said, “The rest of the members will resign the contract. We are planning to release a new 2NE1 song in the summer. We will not pick a new member to replace MINZY.”
“2NE1 has been on a break due to an unfortunate incident two years ago. A member leaving the group could be considered as another crisis for 2NE1, but we will do our best to make sure that 2NE1 gets through this difficult situation.”

This is an official announcement by YG Entertainment regarding the disbandment rumors surrounding 2NE1.
First of all, we would like to apologize for bringing such sad news to all the fans that have been patiently waiting for 2NE1’s comeback.
We officially announce that the youngest member of 2NE1, MINZY, is no longer a member of the group.

It is not easy to see someone go, especially as MINZY has been with us for 11 years after joining YG as a trainee.
