The Shooting for WINNER’s New Variety Show Half-moon Friends is Completed as It is 100% Pre-recorded
[스포츠조선=이승미 기자] Half-moon Friends is 100% pre-recorded to show genuine interaction, and this is certainly a new thing for a variety show.
The shooting for JTBC’s new variety show Half-moon Friends is completed on April 8. The show is to premiere at 9:40 PM on April 23. A member of Half-moon Friends production crew said, “We’re going to edit what we shot during the last fifteen days and make it into a show.”
The crew member also said, “We going to show how an idol group became true friends with children, and in the process, let them remember what it is like to be like a child and have healing moments.” Explaining the reason for making the show 100% pre-recorded, they said “We decided that WINNER members and the children need to spend some time together to bond.”
It not common for a variety show to be 100% pre-recorded, unless the show takes place somewhere outside of Korea. However, WINNER members and the children did the shooting for Half-moon Friends every day since March 21, except for weekends, to show genuine interaction between them.
Half-moon Friends is collaboration between JTBC and YG Entertainment. This made it possible for the shooting to continue for 15 days straight.
JTBC’s Half-moon Friends is a variety show showing how WINNER members (KANG SEUNGYOON, LEE SEUNGHOON, SONG MINHO, NAM TAEHYUN, KIM JINWOO) interact with four-to-seven-year old children at Half-moon Land. The children have their own reasons to be lonely and the members understand them, and so they become true friends. The show hasn’t even aired yet, but expectations are running high with teaser and behind-the-scenes videos posted online and on the show’s official Instragram page.
The first episode of Half-moon Friends airs at 9:40 PM on April 23. The replay will be aired right after on JTBC2 at 11:10 PM.
