[동아닷컴=이슬비 기자] SECHKIES has entered the Billboard chart for the first time since its debut 20 years ago.

SECHSKIES’s “The 20th Anniversary” album entered at No. 9 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, and it was the first time that the group made it to the Billboard charts since its debut.

Billboard delivered this news in an article titled “Classic K-Pop Boy Band SECHSKIES Make Billboard Chart Debut After 20 Years”.

It wrote, “While K-pop acts are a common sight on the Billboard charts today, there’s an entire generation of Korean musicians who laid the groundwork for their successors but have no chart stats to claim for it. Now, one of the biggest boy bands of the late ’90s gets their shine.”

Then the music magazine told the story of SECHSKIES from their debut to breakup and how they joined YG and came back with an album.

Billboard praised “BE WELL” and “SAD SONG”the songs of SECHSKIES’s recently released album—and “THREE WORD”, a song the group released last year, saying that they “showcase why the act can still be a formidable force in the scene today.”

Meanwhile, SECHSKIES’s new album is doing well on both online and offline charts and even took the No.2 spot on last week’s Show! Music Core. The group is actively promoting their new album by appearing in music shows and variety programs. SECHSKIES is to appear on MBC’s Show! Music Core on May 20 and on SBS’s Inkigayo on May 21.
