YG signed exclusive contract with producer Han Dong-cheol… Unmatched producers’ division has been completed
[일간스포츠=이미현 기자] YG Entertainment officially announced that the company signed an exclusive contract with producer Han Dong-cheol on May 15.
On May 15, YG’s CEO YANG HYUN SUK celebrated the recruitment of Hang Dong-cheol by posting a photo of Han signing on the contract, with fun hashtags “Finally #buzzing rumors #ended up in contract with him #feels like lifetime contract #no return now #with producer Hang Dong-cheol #new beginning with YG #NEWCHALLENGE”.
Producer Han Dong-chel (former director of Mnet) produced “Produce 101” last year and planned and directed popular TV shows such as “Show Me the Money” and “Unpretty Rap Star”. He is recognized as an unrivalled TV music show producer, who has popularized the hip-hop genre and established his own brand in Korea.
That is why many rumors and speculations about Han’s future rose after he left Mnet in January this year. He has been at the center of interest in the entertainment world of Korea.
Before producer Han Dong-cheol, YG has already signed exclusive contracts with producer Park Jun-soo of “The God of Music”, producer Yoo Sung-mo who directed tvN’s “SNL Korea” until season 4, main producer Lee Sang-yoon of “Show Me the Money” season 4 and 5, and producer Choi Hyo-jin. As such, famous TV producers have joined YG one after another, to complete the “Han Dong-cheol division” of producers.
YG is building formidable teams of contents producers with producers who are not just from the field of TV music shows but also from the field of entertainment shows, by recruiting MBC’s producers Jo Seo-yoon, Je Young-je, and Kim Min-jong.
So far, there have been some cases of one or two producers joining entertainment companies. However, YG is the first-ever case to have a large team of TV producers. Internet users are saying that the list of producers who have joined YG is enough to make a TV station and expressing their anticipation for the new contents and producing to be presented by YG in the future. Now that the news of producer Han’s contract with YG is announced, all the people in Korea are paying keen attention to with what kind of new contents YG will surprise the public again.
