[Official announcement] iKON confirmed comeback on May 22… With “all-time best songs”

iKON is releasing new songs for the first time in about one year since digital single “#WYD” released in May last year.
Today (May 16) at 10AM, YG Entertainment unveiled an eye-catching teaser poster that displays the back of the members, a red flag that represents iKON, and the date of the team’s comeback, on the official blog of the company.
After their debut in Japan last year, iKON finished arena tour concert in the country in a great success and then received the rookie of the year award in the Japan Record Awards, for the third time for a Korean singer. iKON was the first Korean singer who received the award in seven years since BIGBANG did in 2009. In addition, iKON enjoyed remarkable popularity and built substantial experiences in Japan, to the point of announcing the news of their Japan dome tour within the shortest-ever period of time for a rookie artist.
YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK recently unveiled part of the making video of iKON’s new music video on his social media account, to hint on iKON’s comeback. Notably, YANG raised fans’ anticipation for iKON’s new songs, as it is known that he has extolled iKON’s new songs by saying, “iKON’s new songs are their all-time best”.
On the stage of the after-concert of “2017 YG X UNICEF Walking Festival” held on May 14, iKON also hinted on their upcoming comeback by saying “We’ve prepared thrilling songs, group dance, and music videos. Please look forward to our new album”.
iKON has earned a nickname of “monstrous rookie” by setting unprecedented records from their very debut album filled with songs directly written by the members themselves. Now, the entire music scene and fans are paying keen attention to iKON’s comeback with new music.
