As of 3 PM on July 18, the music video of BLACKPINK’s new song “As If It’s Your Last” surpassed 70 million views on YouTube. It only took 25 days and 21 hours, and this is the shortest time that a music video of a K-pop idol group took to surpass the 70 million mark. It took twice longer for the previous record holder.
BLACKPINK debuted less than a year ago, but they are setting new records as if it is the easiest thing in the world. BLACKPINK is the record holder for each of the marks between 10 million and 70 million views.
The “As If It’s Your Last” music video posted 10 million views in just 17 hours after release, 20 million in 47 hours, 30 million in 1007 hours, 40 million in nine days and 12 hours, 50 million in 14 days, and 60 million in 20 days. Now, the music video surpassed the 70 million mark in the shortest time for a K-pop idol group, making it clear that BLACKPINK is indeed the next-generation world star.
If this trend continues, BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last” music video will surpass the 100 million mark in no time just like the group’s “WHISTLE”, “BOOMBAYAH”, and “PLAYING WITH FIRE” music videos. The views are rising at an incredible speed, and expectations are running high for the new records that the “As If It’s Your Last” music video will be setting.
In addition, BLACKPINK’s official debut in Japan is just around the corner. Recently, the group has released the Japanese versions of its “WHISTLE”, “PLAYING WITH FIRE”, “STAY”, and “As If It’s Your Last” music videos. BLACKPINK’s debut showcase is to take place at Budokan, Tokyo on July 20.
