BLACKPINK Wins Triple Crown on China’s QQ Music… Proves Global Popularity

The title song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ from BLACKPINK’s first mini album ‘SQUARE UP’ was placed at no. 1 on 8 different music charts including Melon, Mnet, Genie, Soribada, Bugs, Olleh, Naver, and Monkey 3, as of June 18 at 8 AM.
The group also topped iTunes Album Charts in 44 different countries, setting a milestone in K-Pop girl group history. Furthermore, the song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ proved the group’s popularity and influence in China by topping the Comprehensive New Releases chart, Comprehensive MV chart, and the KPOP MV chart on QQ Music, which is China’s largest music platform.
BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ surpassed 10 million views in the first 6 hours, 20 million views in 13 hours, 30 million views in 23 hours, 40 million views in 27 hours, and 50 million views in 50 hours. They swept and re-wrote all pre-existing time records held by K-Pop girl groups. The song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is a fierce yet sophisticated Hip-Hop track, which displays BLACKPINK’s upgraded charisma and charms.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is expected to show off their talk skills by making a live guest appearance on MBC FM4U ‘Ji Sukjin’s 2 o’clock Date’ on the 19th.
