X ACADEMY, “Will Reveal YG’s Training Know-How Accumulated for 22 Years… Will Aim to Transfer Students→Artists”

X ACADEMY, the dance & vocal academy established by YG Entertainment’s subsidiary company YGX launched on 2018 near Hongdae, held a press conference on the 10th. Co-representative directors Kim Woojin and Lee Jaewook took part in the event.
Representative director Kim Woojin introduced the academy by stating, “We’ve never shared nor revealed YG’s know-how accumulated for the past 22 years, but the teachers will actually teach them”. “There will be classes for not only regular people, but also for those who aspire to become dancers, choreographers, or artists. Representative producer YANG HYUN SUK will frequently monitor outstanding students to select trainees and our goal will be to debut them as artists, which is what differentiates us from other academies”.
Representative Lee Jaewook added, “We also made a K-Pop class since many people from overseas requested a K-Pop class. The other classes will be consisted of choreography creation curriculum. We will specialize in choreography YG has competitive advantage in”.
He continued, “We did not insist on adding poppin’ or b-boy dances taught in regular dance academies”.
On the composition of regular and professional classes, he revealed, “We are expecting 60% of the total class to be consisted of regular students and the remaining 40% with students who pursue a professional career”.
X ACADEMY is an academy being established by YG Entertainment, the agency responsible for the success of the best artists of this generation through their unique and systematic training system. The academy will be established on October near Hongdae and will be a culture and arts educational venue that will pass on YG’s culture and experience accumulated for the past 22 years.
Dance teams HITECH and CRAZY, known for touring all over the world with YG artists including BIGBANG, WINNER, iKON, and BLACKPINK will manage dance classes, while well-known vocal trainers who are currently active in TV audition programs and the entertainment industry will teach vocal lessons.
