WINNER’s First Solo Concert in Singapore… 130 Minutes of Touching Moments
[텐아시아=김지원 기자] WINNER met the local fans through their first-ever solo concert in Singapore.
On November 3, WINNER held the ‘WINNER 2018 EVERYWHERE TOUR IN SINGAPORE’ in Singapore Expo Max Pavilion. The heat of WINNER’s tour that started in Seoul on August was passed on to Singapore.
After starting the concert by performing ‘EMPTY’, WINNER heated up the venue by performing ‘AIR’, while the audience cheered while shouting ‘WINNER’. The fans who have long-awaited WINNER’s first solo concert waved their official light sticks, filling up the stadium with blue lights for 130 minutes.
YOON stated, “We’re finally in Singapore” and continued, “We’ll present amazing performances as you have waited for us for a long time”. JINU stated, “We’ve wanted to meet you. Let’s have fun today”. HOONY and MINO also expressed their delight of finally meeting the local fans.
WINNER first visited Singapore through the YG Family World Tour back in September 2014. WINNER, who performed overseas as soon as they made debut, was the youngest rookie group of YG, gaining recognition in the K-Pop scene. WINNER has achieved growth in musicality as the ‘group that presents trendy music’ since then.
After performing the song ‘EVERYDAY’, YOON communicated with the fans by stating, “We arrived in Singapore yesterday and went to take the Flyer Ferris wheel, but we were too late”. He added, “Instead, we ate the famous chilly carb and kaya toast. We always want to get closer to the fans by experiencing their cultures”.
This concert was WINNER’s first-ever solo concert being held in Singapore. The heated support by fans were passed on to the members, as much as the hot local weather of Singapore. Approximately 200 fans came out to the airport to meet WINNER and expressed their support. The fans also moved WINNER’s hearts with an event that encouraged the members. The fans sang ‘MOVIE STAR’ after the concert was over while holding the slogan that read, ‘Our Everything is a Masterpiece / You Can be My Hero’, inspired from the song lyrics.
With their last performance ahead, JINU stated, “Thank you for coming today. It felt great to meet you in such a long time”. HOONY shared his thoughts by stating, “We’ll take the good energy you gave us and successfully complete our World Tour”. MINO stated, “I’m very touched. Thank you so much”, while YOON raised expectations on WINNER’s new album by stating, “Artists cannot exist without the fans. We will be back with a new album with new songs”.
WINNER will continue their ‘WINNER 2018 EVERYWHERE TOUR’ on 11/10 in Manila, 11/17 in Jakarta, and on 11/24 in Hong Kong. Member MINO will release his first official album on the 26th after finalizing the world tour. Furthermore, WINNER is expected to release their 3rd official album after that.
