[OSEN=최이정 기자] YG Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as YG) has successfully turned a dramatic profit in the second quarter of this year, and group TREASURE’s global activities are expected to further accelerate YG’s growth in the second half.

On August 8, YG announced through a public disclosure that it recorded an operating profit of 8.4billion KRW on a consolidated basis in the second quarter. This marks a turnaround from the 11 billion KRW operating loss in the same period last year, and it is a "surprise result" that exceeds market expectations (3.1 billion KRW) by 170.9%. Revenue reached 100.4 billion KRW, an 11.6% increase
year-on-year, and net income also turned positive at 11.2 billion KRW.

A YG representative explained, “The global achievements of rookie artists, such as BABYMONSTER’s world tour and TREASURE’s Americas tour, drove profitability,” and added, “Even without album releases, revenues from concerts, digital content, and MD increased across the board.” Among these, TREASURE is undoubtedly the other key pillar responsible for YG’s performance in the second half.

TREASURE will release its 3rd mini album ‘LOVE PULSE’ on September 1. As the album title suggests, it will musically express the heartbeat of falling in love, and even the recently unveiled visual teaser has already raised fans’ expectations.

In the ‘STREET VER.’ group visual released through YG’s official social media, TREASURE maximized their hip charm with street fashion accented in black and red. Their charismatic gazes and deepened aura have drawn praise such as “They’ve matured significantly,” focusing global fans’ attention on the new album.

After the album release, they will aim directly at global fandoms with a large-scale world tour. Starting with three concerts at Seoul KSPO DOME from October 10 to 12, TREASURE will embark on the ‘2025-26 TREASURE TOUR [PULSE ON]’, covering 12 cities in Asia including Japan, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Singapore.

With BLACKPINK’s stadium tour, BABYMONSTER’s world tour, and TREASURE’s full-scale global activities overlapping, YG is expected to maintain strong growth in the second half of the year. Industry insiders predict, “TREASURE’s comeback and tour results will be a key variable solidifying YG’s turnaround in performance.”

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is currently conducting their ‘HELLO MONSTERS’ world tour, consisting of 32 shows across 20 cities within just one year of debut. Their cumulative album sales have surpassed 1.6 million copies, showcasing the momentum befitting a ‘monster rookie’. With TREASURE’s comeback and tour added to the mix, YG is likely to show even greater dominance in the global market in the latter half of the year.
