The title song ‘FIANCÉ’ from MINO’s first solo album ‘XX’ was placed at no. 1 on the weekly charts for the second week of December (12.03~12.09) announced by Melon, Olleh, Genie, Soribada, Bugs, and Monkey 3. MINO not only topped real-time and daily charts in various platforms, but also dominated weekly charts for 2 consecutive weeks, continuing his winning streak as a solo artist.
Furthermore, the MV for ‘FIANCÉ’ surpassed 20 million views, adding more meaning to MINO’s success. Along with the high attention on the MV with music and visual arts, the CHOREOGRAPHY VER of ‘FIANCÉ’ that contains the full choreography of the song is also receiving the fans’ support.
MINO has previously won 3 trophies in music broadcasts after making his comeback by topping Mnet ‘M Countdown’, MBC ‘Show! Music Core’, and SBS ‘Inkigayo’, proving his popularity as a solo artist.
MINO made his no. 1 trophy from ‘Inkigayo’ even more special by making a rap speech. YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK praised MINO by writing, ‘MINO’s rap speech on his no. 1! Sensible guy MINO’ on his social media.
The song ‘FIANCÉ’ samples a popular song from the 70s titled ‘Soyanggang Maid’ and captures the ears of listeners with its familiar melody, variation in rhythm, and catchy lyrics. The lyrics metaphorically state a missed one as ‘fiancé’ or ‘blue bird’, which sounds original and brilliant.
