iKON to Perform at the Largest Music Festival of the US… Receives Spotlight from Billboard
[스포티비뉴스=박수정 이슈팀 기자] Group iKON will perform at the largest music festival of the US on March.
On January 31, YG Entertainment shared the news that iKON will be participating in ‘South by Southwest(SXSW)’, which is one of the largest music festivals in the US, through their official social media account.
iKON will perform in the ‘SXSW Korea Spotlight’ stage at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater located in Austin, Texas on March 13 as the representatives of Korea and decorate the finale.
SXSW wrote, “KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency) is back for their 7th annual SXSW Music Festival showcase. To celebrate lucky number 7, Korea Spotlight presents another stellar lineup of Korean Showcasing Artists”. They added, “This year’s lineup at SXSW includes YG Entertainment’s seven-member boy band iKON making their North American debut”.
US Billboard also reported the news on iKON’s participation in SXSW. Billboard spotlighted iKON by writing, “iKON will present their first-ever performance in the US, after the group made debut back in 2015. iKON has had the most successful year on 2018 with hits including ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, ‘KILLING ME’, and ‘GOODBYE ROAD’”.
SXSW which started back in 1987 is a movie, interactive, and music festival and also serves as a large-scale conference. It is the largest music festival in the US which hosts 2,000 musicians and 20 thousand related officials from 50 different countries. It is known as the 3 biggest music markets of the world along with UK’s ‘The Great Escape. TGE’ and France’s ‘MIDEM’.
