iKON to Make Comeback Today as a 6-Member Group… Three Points to Look Out For

On February 6 at 6 PM, iKON will release their third mini album ‘i DECIDE’. YG Entertainment uploaded iKON’s comeback D-DAY poster and an album counter through their official blog.
‘i DECIDE’ expresses iKON’s passion and will to decide and focus on their own future paths, as well directionality. We’ve selected three points to look out for on iKON’s upcoming comeback.
◇A 6-member group making return after a year of vacancy, title song ‘Dive’
‘i DECIDE’ is the first album being released by iKON as a 6-member group. After achieving growth through their previous ‘NEW KIDS’ series, members JAY, BOBBY, SONG, JU-NE, DK, and CHAN worked harder than ever. They will present not only high-quality, but also matured music and performances.
The people are paying keen attention on the title song ‘Dive’. While ex-member B.I participated in the creation of the song, YG explained, “The song has repeating country guitar riffs which will stand out”. The ‘teaser music(sampler)’ revealing parts of the intro melody and the chorus melody created a sensation among music fans. It is reviewed to have lyrical yet powerful melody that will ring in people’s ears.
The artistic MV of ‘Dive’ is also worthy of attention. iKON has previously raised curiosities on the full version of the MV through their performance teaser, which iKON expressed flames using their entire bodes.
◇First Song Produced by DK-BOBBY Credited as Writers of 3 Tracks
In addition to the title song ‘Dive’, ‘i DECIDE’ contains a total of 5 tracks including ‘Ah Yeah’, ‘All The World’, ‘Holding On’, and ‘Flower’. iKON’s broad music spectrum composed of both popularity and various challenges still exists.
‘Ah Yeah’ is a song expressing emotions of excitement with its strong mood aroused through the snare and electric guitar sounds. ‘All The World’ has funky drum beats and synthesizer sounds which will attract the listers, while ‘Holding On’ presents each member’s unique vocals layered on top of a catchy beat. The song ‘Flower’ was not only written·composed by DK but was also produced by him for the first time. The catchy chorus with lyrics which state the emotions of a breakup clearly show iKON’s unique ballad emotions.
BOBBY participated in writing the lyrics for ‘Ah Yeah’, ‘All The World’, and ‘Flower’. As a member responsible for the rap parts of iKON’s songs, BOBBY proved his presence as a rapper once again by participating in writing the lyrics for a total of 3 songs listed on the new album.
◇iKON’s Evolution and Directionality
The members of iKON have evolved through endless efforts. They’ve been proving their musical capabilities by uploading new songs created by the members or reinterpreted existing songs to their own style on their official YouTube channel.
They’ve hinted that the members will participate not only in their upcoming album, but also in their future projects through various ways. It will be an inflection point to judge the group’s futre and present as ‘artists’, which means that the fans’ support and encouragement from in and out of Korea are what they really need at this point.
Meanwhile, iKON will begin the ‘i DECIDE’ countdown live ‘FM iKON’(with VLIVE) today at 5 PM, an hour prior to the release of their album.
