BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ Also Surpasses 500M Views, ‘Most Among All K-Pop Girl Groups’

According to YG Entertainment on May 8, BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ surpassed 500M views on YouTube as of 10:25 AM.
As a result, BLACKPINK holds 5 MVs with over 500M views including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’(1.1B), ‘BOOMBAYAH’·’KILL THIS LOVE’(800M), and ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’(700M).
This is the first and most highest record among all K-Pop girl groups. Furthermore, BLACKPINK is expected to renew their own records soon since MVs for ‘WHISTLE’ and JENNIE’s solo song ‘SOLO’ are also about to reach 500M views.
‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ is one of the double title tracks of ‘SQUARE TWO’, BLACKPINK’s second digital single album. The lyrics which metaphorically state a girl abruptly falling in love into playing with fire and the Tropical House genre sounds have received steady love from the fans.
The MV contained BLACKPINK’s girl crush charms with its eye-catching and glamorous concept, which grabbed the hearts of global fans. The members’ powerful and charismatic dance impressed the viewers along with their alluring facial expressions.
BLACKPINK, known as the ‘YouTube Queens’, are solidifying their global presence. BLACKPINK has 35.1 million subscribers on YouTube, the platform that is changing the trend of the global music scene. BLACKPINK currently has the most subscribers among all groups in K-Pop.
BLACKPINK has a total of 18 videos with over 100M views including their official MVs, dance practice videos, and music broadcast contents. They are reviewed to be showing dominant presence on YouTube with their superb contents which represent K-Pop.
While BLACKPINK has noticed their upcoming comeback on June, the group is receiving attention through their participation as featuring artists on Pop star Lady Gaga’s new album which will be released on the 29th.
