TREASURE Tops Japan Line Music Top 100 Chart for 3 Consecutive Days with ‘I LOVE YOU’

The title song ‘I LOVE YOU’ from TREASURE’s second single album is ranked at no. 1 on the Top 100 Real-time chart of Line Music, which is Japan’s biggest music chart, as of September 20 at 8 AM. The song is at no. 1 for 3 consecutive days since its release on the 18th. The song is also placed on the top ranks of Japan iTunes Top Song chart.
It is also known that the biggest portion of TREASURE’s physical album pre-order sales, which will be released on the 22nd, comes from Japan. In fact, on mu-mo, one of Japan’s biggest music charts, TREASURE is already at no. 1 on the Comprehensive Album rankings.
Considering that they are a K-Pop rookie group yet to make official debut in Japan and has not had any local activities, the results are promising. On the date of TREASURE’s second single album release(18th), Arashi, Japan’s representative idol group, and Pop star Bruno Mars released a collaborative English single, which grabbed the people’s attention.
TREASURE has received the local spotlight as YG’s major rookie group known as ‘BIGBANG’s little brother group’ with Japanese members including YOSHI, MASHIHO, ASAHI, and HARUTO, when they made debut on August. The group is currently capturing the Japanese and global fans’ hearts after beginning their full-scale promotional activities.
TREASURE will appear on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ today and perform ‘I LOVE YOU’.
TREASURE appeared on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ broadcasted on the 19th and performed ‘I LOVE YOU’ as their first comeback performance. The group showed off their unrivaled aura with different outfit concepts from what they presented through ‘BOY’ and stage presence, close to perfection. Their sturdy vocal skills, rap, and powerful yet sophisticated performances dominated the viewers.
TREASURE’s ‘sharp group moves’ also got fiercer. The systematic performance as if the 12 members became united impressed the viewers, while killing point moves of making a drummer gesture, opening one’s chest implying a love confession, and nodding one’s head while making a hand heart seemed easy to follow and had potential to become popular moves.
‘I LOVE YOU’ is a Dance Pop genre song with faster and fiercer sounds than that of their debut single ‘BOY’. Like the title of the song, the lyrics state a boy’s straightforward rush towards the one he loves, while the phrase ‘I LOVE YOU’ is repeated to add catchiness to the song.
