[enews24=김지연 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK is making their return. With their first official debut album being released on October 2, in 4 years since the group made debut, full-scale promotion on the album has now begun.
On September 21 at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded BLACKPINK’s ‘COMING SOON POSTER’ through their official blog.
The members’ backs were shown in the dark background. Their stylings look fierce. Other information is still in veil, but the overall mood which showed BLACKPINK’s unique charisma looked extraordinary. The album release schedule ‘October 2nd 2020, 12am EST & 1pm KST’ written on the poster also grabbed the viewers’ attention. The album will be released at 12 AM US Eastern time. It is 1 PM on the same day in Korean Standard Time.
BLACKPINK has presented ‘hard work’ as they’ve noticed. Their pre-release singles released consecutively have swept the global music market, raising anticipation on their upcoming official debut album.
They’ve warmed up with the song ‘Sour Candy’ collaborated with Lady Gaga on May, released their first pre-release single ‘How You Like That’ on June, and ‘Ice Cream’ with Selena Gomez on August, which became 3 consecutive hit songs.
The song ‘How You Like That’ achieved remarkable success by receiving the US MTV Video Music Awards and being selected as the ‘Best Song of the Summer’ by YouTube. Furthermore, ‘Ice Cream’ was ranked at no. 13 on US Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’ announced on the 9th(local time), renewing their own best K-Pop girl group record. BLACKPINK’s official debut album has received 800 thousand pre-orders in just 6 days, according to the first aggregation. Considering that there was a month left until the album’s release date, the figure is expected to increase even more.
BLACKPINK’s first official debut album, ‘THE ALBUM, will be released on October 2, while physical copies of the album will be available through nationwide retailers online and offline on October 6.
