BLACKPINK Reveals Track List for Official Debut Album… Features Cardi B, ‘World-Class’ Collaboration
[스타뉴스=이정호 기자] Group BLACKPINK revealed their track list which surprised the global music fans, 3 days prior to the release of their official debut album.
On September 29 at 9 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded the track list poster for BLACKPINK’s official debut album, ‘THE ALBUM’. The poster included credits for a total of 8 songs, including ‘Lovesick Girls’.
The title song ‘Lovesick Girls’ grabbed the fans’ eyes and ears with its country guitar riffs along with its dark and ambient mood, through the previously revealed teaser clip. JISOO and JENNIE were credited as lyricists of the song, while JENNIE also participated in the composing of the song.
Furthermore, YG’s legendary producer TEDDY, who has produced all songs for BLACKPINK since debut, collaborated with producers 24 and R.Tee, who have also created numerous mega-hits, making the people look forward to what kind of synergy effects they will bring.
On track no. 4, ‘Bet You Wanna’, world-famous female rapper Cardi B has participated as a featuring artist. Cardi B is known for both her musicality and popularity.
Cardi B is an artist who received the ‘Best Rap Album’ award for the first time as a female rapper at the 61st Grammy Awards through her debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’, back in 2018. She is also the ‘most popular’ rapper who is dominating global charts including the Billboard Hot 100 through her song ‘WAP’, collaborated with Megan The Stallion. The collaboration between world-class artist Cardi B and BLACKPINK, the group making K-Pop sensations in the major Pop market, is expected to create sensational effects.
Since BLACKPINK’s debut album has been prepared for a long time with devotion by YG and Universal Music Group, the world’s biggest music label, and since it is their official debut album being released in 4 years since the group’s debut, it is known that the album is compiled of the best of various genres including Hip-hop, Pop, Dance, and R&B.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’ and the MV for its title song ‘Lovesick Girls’ will be released on October 2. They will be released at 12 AM US EST, 1 PM KST on the same day.
