YG TREASURE at No. 1 on Hanteo Chart→Celebrates 100th Day Debut Anniversary… Proves Themselves as the ‘Best K-Pop Rookie Group’
[OSEN=이승훈 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE dominated major Korean music charts in a day since the release of their album, celebrating their 100th day debut anniversary.
According to Hanteo Chart on November 14, TREASURE’s third single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER THREE’ reached a total of 118,768 sales on the first day of its release(13th).
It is a noticeable figure among K-Pop groups who have made debut this year. They have reached nearly 500 thousand in sales with just 2 single albums and set a record by being ranked at no. 1 on Hanteo Chart’s Daily Album Sales chart with all 3 single albums they’ve released until now.
After making their first step in the global music market on August 7, TREASURE has faced their 100th day anniversary. Their path shined, although it hasn’t been long.
Their title songs ‘BOY’, ‘I LOVE YOU’, and ‘MMM’ from ‘THE FIRST STPE” series successfully targeted the global music charts. They were ranked at no. 1 on Line Music, the biggest music platform in Japan, Rakuten Music, and China’s QQ Music, proving their dominant presence. They also topped iTunes charts in 19 different countries, as well as charting in on 93 regions of Spotify and Apple Music charts. The results are very successful considering that they are a K-Pop rookie group who have not made official debut overseas, without any local promotional activities.
Furthermore, they are walking the path of ‘global idols’ as they are expanding their popularity not only in Japan and China, but also throughout Southeast Asia including Indonesia and Thailand. They are also steadily rising on charts that serve as indexes for the major Pop market trend, such as the US Billboard World Digital Song Sales, Emerging Artists, and Social 50 charts.
TREASURE has already released 3 single albums in 3 months since debut. It is unprecedented in YG, known to make late releases due to high self-evaluation standards. It was possible because they were well-prepared and since numerous global fans showed love and support.
Moreover, TREASURE is receiving positive reviews due to the fact that they’ve released music in different mood, dynamic performances, and upgraded musical capacities.
The theme of ‘love’ was the same, but the emotions were wide and diverse. They talked about a young boy who fell in love for the first time through ‘BOY’ and expressed a pure boy’s emotions as he yelled ‘I love you’ and headed towards the one he loves on the song ‘I LOVE YOU’. The group then revealed their hip-crush with powerful emotions on ‘MMM’, putting their fans’ hearts in ‘emergency’, making their hearts flutter.
TREASURE plans to continue various promotional activities until the end of the year through ‘MMM’ and has revealed their systematic plan to release their official debut album next year on January.
