ROSÉ Sets Best Korean Solo Artist Record on Spotify Streams in 24 Hours
[엑스포츠뉴스=김현정 기자] BLACKPINK ROSÉ is achieving remarkable results on Spotify, the world’s biggest music streaming platform, with her first-ever solo debut album.
According to YG Entertainment, the title track ‘On The Ground’ from ROSÉ’s solo album ‘R’ was ranked at no. 8 on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart on the 13th(US local time). The sub-title track ‘Gone’ was ranked at no. 11.
It was the biggest number of streams achieved by a Korean solo artist within the first 24 hours.
‘On The Ground’ was streamed approximately 3.26M times, while the sub-title track ‘Gone’ was streamed approximately 2.94M times. It is the biggest number of streams reached by an official Korean solo artist release, while the figure is unrivaled even among girl group statistics besides BLACKPINK, which is the group ROSÉ is part of.
With over 350M subscribers(as of the 4th quarter of 2020), Spotify is a music streaming service which influences the US Billboard and UK’s Official Charts. The Global Digital Artist Rankings combine 4 charts including iTunes, Apple Music, YouTube, and Spotify when determining ranks.
After dominating iTunes Top Song charts in 51 different countries including the US, as well as the Worldwide Chart, ROSÉ will appear on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ today(14th) and present her first-ever solo music broadcast performance.
It will be her first-ever performance after the release of her album and the first presentation of ROSÉ’s first solo choreography. Since she has revealed her satisfaction and noticed a fresh yet solid composition, the global fans are expected to pay keen attention.
ROSÉ’s solo title track ‘On The Ground’ is a song with lyrics which sing, ‘I’ve always worked and aimed for a higher place, but the most important value is within myself’.
The song has variation on acoustic guitars, tense melodies, and mystic instrument arrangement. They create harmony with ROSÉ’s delicate yet powerful vocals, presenting a new kind of pleasure to its listeners.
The MV for ‘On The Ground’ became the most watched video on YouTube on the date of its release. It reached approximately 39M views in the first 24 hours, and has currently surpassed 56M views.
Following her appearance on SBS ‘Inkigayo’, she will appear on NBC ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on the 16th(US local time).
