Psy (his real name Park Jae-sang), just before he left for the United States, told the media that perhaps his new singles ‘Gentleman’ was “not very sound.”

At 10a.m. on April 25, Psy was at the Incheon International Airport, all ready to fly to New York. Before his departure he held a press conference.

Psy said, “there are a lot of issues surrounding my music video ‘Gentleman.’ The hype told me that the expectations for me were high. My principle for writing music and creating MVs are ‘make it sound but not so healthy.’ And perhaps my latest MV wasn’t so ‘sound’.”

He added, “I am aware that since ‘Gangnam Style’, there are now a big number of children fans, and I do think the latest video is inappropriate for children. I will come back with a better music video next time for those fans.”

Psy kicks off his promotion for the latest video ‘Gentleman’ as soon as he arrives in New York. He will be going worldwide yet again with the new viral song, through various television programs and performances.
Psy’s ‘Gentleman’ was released on April 12 at zero hour in 119 different countries around the globe. The latest Billboard Singles Chart (5th week of April) HOT 100 now puts him at rank 5, which is 7 steps ahead of where he was just last week.
