Psy’s new song to be unveiled in summer
Now dubbed the ‘World Star’, Psy announced his plan for a new album.
On May 5 (American time), Psy talked to his fans on an American online media Saturday Night Online Live with Romeo, where a fan asked when his new album would be released. To the question, he answered “this summer.”
He told the fan, “I will start working on the new album after the promotion for “Gentleman” finishes. This will be the 7th album in Korea and the debut one for the U.S.”
He also told the fan what the new concept is going to be: he will be collaborating with other musicians who have similar vibes to his songs. “I’m not sure which artists to work with yet, but if my finished track reminds me of someone, my plan is to work with that musician,” he added.
Currently Psy’s Billboard HOT 100 rank is at 26. On May 9 (Korean time) the fourth ranking results will be out. Psy left for the U.S. on April 25 to promote his new viral song “Gentleman”, and is devoting himself in the project. He performed live at New York’s Rockefeller Center for NBC’s Today Show, while also visiting a stadium to see his fellow South Korean baseballer Ryu Hyun-jin play for LA Dodgers.
