BLACKPINK’s JISOO Blooms with ‘FLOWER’, Clinching Global YouTube Song and MV Charts No. 1
[MBC연예=백아영 기자] BLACKPINK’s JISOO has conquered the global YouTube music charts with her first solo album [ME].
According to the latest YouTube charts announced on April 9th (2023.03.31~2023.04.06), JISOO’s solo album title track ‘FLOWER’ has achieved No. 1 on the Global YouTube Top 100 Songs and the Most Viewed Music Video worldwide.
Released on March 31st, the ‘꽃(FLOWER)’ music video has garnered explosive responses from music fans, soaring straight to No. 1 on YouTube’s Worldwide Trending Videos. Not only did it become the ‘Most Viewed Video within 24 hours’, but on April 8th, it also reached 100 million views, making it the 41st billion-view video for the team. The music video has been praised for its cinematic visual beauty, JISOO’s ever-changing charm in each chapter, and an overwhelming performance that maximizes the song’s theme.
Riding on the popularity of the ‘FLOWER’ music video, BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel has also experienced explosive growth. Since the release of [ME], BLACKPINK’s previous hit songs have been achieving billion-view milestones with steep increases in views, while the number of subscribers to their official YouTube channel (currently over 86.3 million) has increased by nearly 1.1 million.
FLOWER’ is also flexing its strong presence on various global charts beyond YouTube. It has set new records for a K-pop female solo artist by entering at No. 6 on the world’s largest music streaming platform Spotify and No. 38 on the UK Official Singles Chart.
Meanwhile, JISOO will be performing ‘FLOWER’ on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ today (9th). As this will be her first domestic music broadcast stage since the album’s release, global fans’ attention is highly anticipated.
